Watchmen...The Geek's Thoughts

Sooooo... I actually thought the movie was awesome. Anything that deals with human nature is mad cool. Human;s are savage animals, when it boils down to the nitty gritty, who will hesitate to kill the next man? What the nitty gritty is, I'm not sure...
The film kinda had one of those "the night is darkest just before the dawn" moments (i.e The Dark Knight)... why is that like an awesome quote to me? lol
Nonetheless, I think I have a bias veiw on the film, since I made it my mission last week to finish the graphic novel before seeing it. Thank Bob it took 9hrs to twist my hair up b/c otherwise I could not sit an read that long.
The book has so much more background info going on. There was excepts from another novel in the book, another comic series in the book, varies papers on various topics.
The movie did a good job of capturing everyones bio's. In the book it took a long time to cover everyone's history. I was continuously having Ah ha! moments, guess that means Alan Moore is a good writer...
The movie was good, but I prefer the book (comic).
I like reading graphic novels, with all the prettiful illustrations, it was like watching the movie pretty much, script was sooo almost word for word =]

*Pic*
I love this guy, like the only reason the trailer interested me last yr was b/c this dude zapped a Vietcong person. The mess he says is so raw, like analyzed down to the atoms. Like what happens on earth is so effin' insignificant in the big scheme of the universe. Kinda like how I veiw things... Like PEOPLE- HUMAN- Homo Sapeins... r like a spot... no a dot on the geological time line... like who the fuck r we compared to some primitive bacteria yo... not a darn thing.... We are just cohabitating until conditions are unfavorable for most, ones that survive.... new species... BOOYAH!

He was pretty cool...
I can't get over the fact that his junk was just a swinging for like 85% of the movie...

His character made me wonder what they were trying to say about God and creation....

I loved the movie...it was violent as all get out though...

All I have to say is Neon Blue Penis!

If you could make a drinking game off how many times you saw his pennis in the movie, I'd be drunk 30 mins. into the movie! I would have had Alcohol poisoning from the 50ft penis!

WTF! But ideology wise it struck gold. It didn't get me like Death Note did or from other "deep" movies/animes/comics did. But it was great for something published in 1986! I guess that's what you should expect from (as some call it) "the greatest graphic novel of all time!" And if you look back to that time DC controlled the comic book/graphic novel industry unlike Stan Lee's Marvel Universe of today!

It was good, (4.5 out of 5 stars) I'll give it that but "greatest" the jury is still out on that one! Maybe if it had a little bit less pennis and little bit more loin cloth I could have spent more time looking at the screen and following along for the full 2 hr 40 mins!
